Make a impact selfie

Why should I engage? Creating impact is what drives us at BOOKBRIDGE. The best way to show what we mean by impact is to actually ask the members of our Family of Bridgebuilders on what change we have brought to their lives. We would like to invite you to leave your footprint on our impact wall.

What does this mean? On our impact wall, you’ll find short personal videos from our Bridgebuilders. As a Bridgebuilder, we invite you to create and upload a short selfie on what BOOKBRIDGE means to you and what impact BOOKBRIDGE has had on your life. The videos will be published on the impact wall.

How can I contribute? Leaving a footprint on our impact wall is easy. Follow these steps:

  1. Choose the right question for you
    • What impact has BOOKBRIDGE created on your life?
This question is the right question for all alumni of our programs as well as students at our learning centers.
    • What does BOOKBRIDGE mean to you?
This question is best for all direct and indirect supporters in our network, e.g. impact investors or pro bono supporters.
  2. Take your mobile phone and record a 20-30s selfie in landscape mode
    • Choose a quiet location
    • Choose a room which is bright
    • Hold the mobile phone in landscape mode
    • There are no rules for recording your impact. Just be yourself – tell, sing or dance your thoughts.
  3. Upload the selfie

Who can participate? Everyone who got in contact with BOOKBRIDGE and feels inspired or impacted!

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I prepare myself for the selfie?
The best way to prepare yourself for the selfie is to sit back, relax and think on what has changed in your life through your experience with BOOKBRIDGE. This can be small or big things. It can be concrete actions you took, e.g. I started a new career, or changes in attitude or behavior, e.g. I learnt how to work together with people from a completely different culture or I understand better my role in the world. As long as it is personal and tangible, it is the right thing to record!

What should I avoid by all means?
The experience shows that most people start talking about what BOOKBRIDGE is and how great our initiative is. However, we want you to talk about yourself. Avoid cherishing or describing BOOKBRIDGE. Focus on yourself and your personal take aways.

Can I also submit a longer video?
Yes, you can! Go ahead!

Can I talk in my mother tongue?
You may talk in any language. Choose the language you feel most comfortable with.
