Welcome to BOOKBRIDGE Sri Lanka

As part of Vision 2020 and inspired by the success of its learning centers in Mongolia and Cambodia, BOOKBRIDGE choose Sri Lanka as its third country. The Sri Lankan Scouts Association (SLSA) has been selected as the main partner in the country. We are planning to establish two learning centers in Uva Province, the first in June 2016 and the second in March 2017 through its award winning and unique Leadership Program. Our participants will work with Community Heroes on the ground to establish learning centers to support the communities in Uva Province.

Cherish our Founders and Alumni

Founding-BOOKBRIDGE-Sri-Lanka-9-2015As part of Vision 2020 and inspired by the success of its learning centers in Mongolia and Cambodia, BOOKBRIDGE choose Sri Lanka as its third country. The Sri Lankan Scouts Association (SLSA) has been selected as the main partner in the country with a Memorandum of Understanding being signed in September 2015. In September 2015, the BOOKBRIDGE team (right) visited Sri Lanka to undertake a rapid assessment to decide which province to focus on and where to establish the first learning center.

Of great help during our first steps in Sri Lanka were Gihan Amil Abeysundara (Assistant District Commissioner at Sri Lankan Scouts Association SLSA, second from left), Janaprid Fernando (SLSA International Commissioner at SLSA, fourth from left), and Heshini Samarakoon (logistical support at SLSA, second from right). Rasheed Abdullah (President of BOOKBRIDGE Foundation, left, with wife Nadira Ismail), Carsten Rübsaamen (founder and CEO of BOOKBRIDGE, red shirt) and Monika Nowaczyk (BOOKBRIDGE Country Manager Sri Lanka, right) joined from the BOOKBRIDGE side.
