Hello, everyone visiting this BOOKBRIDGE page. I am an assistant teacher at Arvaikheer Learning Center. Mostly they call me as “Nine”. Our center has had a weekly class named “Chatty Bunch” for almost 8 months and we worked together with volunteer Perrin Krisko. Through this, students and even we had a chance to experience new things. And for me the module “United Nations” was the most impressive among them.

It is totally different than other events. In Mongolia, a typical competition is like contesting each other. The participants’ aim is to reach the peak. However, Module United Nations (MUN) was, in my opinion, beneficial to everyone. Even if it lasted for 8 hours, from 9am to 6pm. I felt so refreshing because we learnt critical thinking, making decision on unexpected things and acting as delegates.

For the period of MUN, we became the delegates of 17 different countries. I was South Africa. We discussed successfully about the gun control, whether it is needed globally or not. Then we were awarded with special certificates. For instance: My certificate says: “Most likely to be the next secretary general”. All participants were truly motivated afterwards.

So we are sure to hold this event annually. And I will be glad to organize this activity next year. Obviously, this was all thanks to BOOKBRIDGE’s funding support and volunteer’s help. They prepared many things for this event to be exciting such as breaking news, vocabularies, a lot of practicing with students…. And with the help of funding we were able to get drinks and food during the activity. The next event will be TedX. I hope everybody is looking forward to it.
