A couple of days ago, the team of our current Capability Program arrived in Ang-Tasom, Cambodia to set-up our third learning center. Martina writes about the first days.
On Friday, 22nd of November our Capability Program team arrived safely in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. After the team enjoyed a very nice tour
through Takeo Province to learn about the history and culture of Cambodia, they work since three days on the project site in Ang-Tasom.
One part oft the team is setting up the library and the course rooms, others prepare our IT courses, where children and youth can adapt computer skills and get access to worldwide information through the internet.
Next to the course rooms, the learning centre will offer a seminar program where people of he Angtasom Community share their knowledge, mainly in the field of agriculture, to develop collective capacities with a peer-to-peer approach.
Everything is developing very well and today the first curious kids showed up and helped us stamping the books and labelling the shelves. Until the opening ceremony on Friday, the team aims to set-up the perfect learning environment, brief our new Head of Learning Center and the volunteers, set- up the final course schedule and do a marketing tour in Angtasom.
There is still a lot to do- but we will get there! Thank you for all the people, that helped us so far!!!
