This week, the 7th annual “English is the Key to Development” Language Competition was held in Bulgan. BOOKBRIDGE Learning Center participated. By Maralma Jargalsaikhan
We organized the yearly competition for 11th graders in Bulgan Aimag Center. This year we had six teams participating: two teams from 1st School, three teams from 2nd School, and one team from 3rd School. Each team had five members and each team member performed a different aspect of the competition.
The completion tasks included: Translation, reading comprehension, sentence unscrambling, singing an English song, and essay writing. The teams also worked together as a whole to make a fun and creative team name introduction! A big thank you to BOOKBRIDGE for funding our event and to the judges: Community Hero Maralmaa, Peace Corps Volunteer Andrea, and Foreign Language Specialist Odgerel for making the event possible.
The students had a great day celebrating their knowledge of the English language. We look forward to hosting this competition again next year for rising 11th graders. “English Language is the Key to Development” provides a great local opportunity for English language engagement and we think its important to provide such an opportunity here in Bulgan!
