Emilie Barrallon will from now on support our team in conducting the capability program. In this blog post she presents herself.
Bonjour a tous!
Native from France, I live in Switzerland with my partner and have recently joined the BOOKBRIDGE team as Capability Program Officer to serve the foundation’s activities and growth.
As for my education background I have studied economics, languages, philosophy, history, geography…and then got specialized in international human resources management in a business school up to a Master degree in Entrepreneurship by HEC Paris. Afterwards I worked in export and brand management in the garment industry. As I was more a victim of fashion than a “fashion victim”, I then decided to focus on creating and developing international businesses for SMEs and foundations, providing customized services and on demand expatriations. From 2004, I have been working and traveling in Europe, South East Asia and South America.
In Asia, with local teams and European counterparts from France, Germany and Switzerland, we have worked on social businesses related to access to international education in China, access to healthcare with mobile clinics and medical equipment in Myanmar, construction of an anticyclone school in the delta of Myanmar, access to drinkable water thanks to mobile water plants in flooded villages of Bangladesh.
Back from expatriations and now settled down in Switzerland, I am very glad to join such a professional, enthusiastic, dynamic and international team as BOOKBRIDGE. And I feel already thankful and impressed by the commitment and support from the bridgebuilder community that I had the chance to get to know partially, individually and collectively at the BridgeBuilder Summit in April in the Black Forest. BOOKBRIDGE´s goals, team and methods are for me an extraordinary good mixture of what I like, in addition to our common interest in social business, in Asia and in positive and sustainable impact on communities’ skills development and empowerment.
In my new role, I wish the capability programs will support efficiently BOOKBRIDGE country programs in respect to initial investments, knowledge sharing, challenge solving and future development of the learning centers. Thanks to the capability program, I am glad that I can contribute to offer a precious and authentic chance to participants to develop their skills in intercultural project management, social business creation and leadership, which will have a significant impact on their personal and professional lives. Another point that I find crucial is the satisfaction of our clients and partners, companies, individuals and academics, in order to develop further their awareness on global impact as well as their regular investment in our programs.
Well, work is waiting for me now. So feel free to contact me anytime if you have further questions or suggestions about the future CAPs. My email address is emilie at bookbridge . org. If you cannot find me at my BOOKBRIDGE workplaces in Freiburg, Basel, Mongolia or Cambodia, then you might join me at my other favorite places which can be either right on the slopes skiing in high mountains or deep in the oceans admiring amazing marine life 🙂
