Ashoka has selected Carsten as Ashoka Fellow. We are now officially part of the worldwide Ashoka network, including more than 3,000 selected fellows in 72 countries. We are very proud of this achievement. We would like to thank all bridge builders â especially our founders, investors, partners and volunteers. Without you, this would have never been possible.
Ashoka is the first and worldwide largest organization which supports social entrepreneurs. Ashoka supports social entrepreneurs who are leading and collaborating with changemakers, in a team of teams model that addresses the fluidity of a rapidly evolving society. Ashoka believes that anyone can learn and apply the critical skills of empathy, team work, leadership and changemaking to be successful in the modern world.
Carsten convinced Ashoka with his creative business model â a hybrid. “BOOKBRIDGE consists of a revenue-driven innovative leadership development program, which boosts â together with donations â the setup of learning centers. By that way, BOOKBRIDGE builds a bridge between the Global North and the Global South â creating impact on both sides,” says Susanne Wittig from Ashoka Switzerland.
Carsten is very happy about his fellowship: “The Ashoka Fellowship does not only help me personally, but it is also an award and major milestone for the work of all bridge builders in the last four years. Without the support of our book champions, fellows, social investors and partners, we would have never come so far. It is your award as well.”
We are very proud of this recognition and we will celebrate it at the 2014 BridgeBuilder Summit.
